Michael D. Butler launches ProAthletePlanB.com To Assist Retiring NFL Players And Their Families Financially Make The Adjustment And Transition To A New Way Of Life After Football.

“It’s like a retirement package for athletes and it’s funded by fans and lovers of their sport.”

How does a retiring NFL player transition out of the adrenaline rush and lifestyle of Football’s biggest game and put on a tie and go back to a regular job? Many struggle with the transition ProAthletePlanB.com hopes to help with the growing number of Professional Athletes already benefiting from new Social Commerce industry.

Every year at this time a host of retiring NFL players return to civilian life. They return to their families, their homes, and their future careers; trying to find a new normal that will pay the bills and provide a new adrenaline rush.

But normal can be hard to find, as this 2009 article by  Sports Illustrated’s Pablo S. Torre, ‘How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke,’  Sports Illustrated Article How and Why Athletes go Broke shared in points out, it says,

“As many as 78% of former NFL players have gone bankrupt or are under financial stress because of joblessness or divorce.”

“Recession or no recession, many NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball players have a penchant for losing most or all of their money. It doesn’t matter how much they make. And the ways they blow it are strikingly similar,” Torre continues.

This thought is echoed in a recent ESPN Documentary “BROKE” Directed by Billy Corben. More money, more problems. Broke digs into the psychology of men whose competitive nature carried them to victory on the field yet seemed to ruin them off the field.

By leveraging Solavei™ a new Social Commerce company with 120,000 customers that launched in Seattle in September of 2012. “It just makes sense for every Athlete from Little League to the NFL to be funded by Solavei™ and monetizing their future in the new Social Commerce Industry,” he added.

Solavei™ is a social networking and commerce platform that enables users to connect, share and capitalize on the power of social networks. Solavei’s mission is to make commerce less expensive by empowering individuals to earn income on the products and services they enjoy and use every day. Solavei™ pays its members to refer 4G Unlimited Voice, Text, and Data for $49 per month.
Solavei™ launched in September of 2012 and has many pro athletes and celebrities that are singing their praises.

Retired and current athletes and celebrities include: Emmit Smith, Bubba Watson, Shaun Kemp, Dante Wesley, Greg Fassitt, Detlef Shrimp, Michael Dotterer, Mark Bradley, Stephen Baldwin and others that are choosing Solavei™ as their Plan B.

“It just really makes sense,” said Butler, “when you think of aging athletes, in whatever sport, it’s a way they can have a sponsor ‘underwrite’ them, while they’re young, without having to jump through all the corporate hoops that typically come with an endorsement deal and get paid for life.”

Asked if he’d offer Solavei™ to a competitor, one athlete was heard quickly saying, “of course!”

Torre with Sports Illustrated went on the say, “Within five years of retirement, an estimated 60% of former NBA players are broke. In a less public way, other athletes from the nation’s three biggest and most profitable leagues—the NBA, NFL and Major League Baseball—are suffering from a financial pandemic. Although salaries have risen steadily during the last three decades, reports from a host of sources (athletes, players’ associations, agents and financial advisers)”

Fast forward a decade and a half later and a College scholarship that landed him in Kansas he we was ready to play. An injury, however, would say otherwise but Mellor never let go of his dream. His love and appreciation for the support makes it the second time Adam has brought Professional Soccer back to the city of Tulsa.
The Tulsa Roughnecks had a great run in Tulsa the late 70′s to early 80′s several of those early players became somewhat famous i.e.: Charlie Mitchell, owner of Charlie Mitchell’s restaurants. Follow the Tulsa Revolution and their news here and on Twitter @TulsaProSoccer.

Background

The Tulsa Revolution is the brainchild of Adam Mellor, a local soccer enthusiast. He started the Tulsa Revolution in February 2007 and operated the team in the 2007/08 season in the American Indoor Soccer League. Adam’s passion is soccer, and his dream is to see a professional team in Northeast Oklahoma that will provide a stable franchise. Adam has a strong background in soccer; he grew up in Wales, GB and was involved in soccer as a player and at many coaching levels. Adam mentored under two retired international players, Mark Aizlewood of Wales & Tommy Hutchinson of Scotland. He obtained his coaching license through UEFA and was involved in the Rhondda CynonTaff development schools as a coach at age 16. During his youth he was invited for a trial at Cardiff City AFC youth development program which he was unable to complete as his family moved back to Oklahoma in 2000. Adam has stayed involved with soccer during his time in Oklahoma but has a dream to further his ambition of a stable, professional Oklahoma soccer franchise.

Shannon Clark is an avid soccer fan that lives and works in the Tulsa area. Shannon was born and raised in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where he still currently lives with his wife and five children. Shannon spent several years of his youth playing soccer with the Broken Arrow Soccer Club, along with his two brothers, until sustaining a leg injury that caused him to take a break from the sport.

Shannon currently works as a full time law enforcement official in the Tulsa area and has served in that official capacity for more than two decades. As a past time Shannon  enjoys promoting the sport of soccer while participating as an adult player, coach, referee, soccer dad and now a soccer franchise owner. Shannon has coached several different levels of soccer, most recently, he was the 2011/2012 head coach for the Tulsa Memorial Chargers 5A girls varsity soccer team. Shannon continues to referee at a competitive level along with being an official for OSSAA (Oklahoma Secondary School Athletic Association) high school soccer.

Shannon is excited that he and his business partner Adam Mellor can bring a PASL franchise to Tulsa and showcase some of the exceptional soccer talent this area has to offer while giving all the soccer fans in this region the opportunity to watch some of the most exciting, fast paced, soccer action in a climate controlled atmosphere.

Michael D. Butler Announces Launch Of 4GSpeaker.com To Help Professional Speakers, Workshop Hosts, Paster & Artists Fund Their Travel Expenses & Expand Their Network

The speaking industry has taken a hit in the recession – But right now Pastors, Retired Athletes, Professional Speakers and Online Celebrities are all funding their dream of speaking, lecturing and training using a proven affiliate system that funds speaking careers while growing Networks to keep them on the road at 4GSpeaker.com

Keynote speakers, Pastors and Spokespersons of nonprofits have seen finances, honorariums and speaking fees go down over the past several years as a result of the recession are turning to affiliate marketing and joint ventures to fund their passion.

Michael D. Butler, Serial Entrepreneur from Tulsa OK announces the launch of 4GSpeaker.com to help Professional Speakers, Authors, Pastors, Workshop Leaders and Online Celebrities underwrite their dream and stay on stage.

“As a speaker myself it was getting to the point were many of our colleagues were having to come off the road to get a ‘day job’ to support their families and do gigs on the weekend. Since launching 4GSpeaker.com we’ve had a number of Pastors, Speakers and even Retired Athletes decide to book their 2013 knowing that their affiliate fees would kick in by spring and summer to fund their tours,” said Butler.
“As an independent business owner helping with the launch of Solavei, a new Oklahoma4G.com that is helping make commerce more affordable for customers by providing 4G unlimited voice, data and text for $49 per month and I can see it as a great ‘baseline’ revenue creation tool that can help sustain a Speaker because of the ongoing, recurring income.

“It’s almost like Facebook or Twitter having a shopping card that allowed their members to save money at retail outlets across the country,” said Michael Butler. “That is exactly what Solavei and their Social Commerce Network is all about and how it can benefit member based organizations.”

The income the speaker receives is continuous. It is paid out monthly to the speaker directly from Solavei based on the number of members using the service. It also gives the chance of a business consultant in New York or a Mommy Blogger in Memphis to get funded by a grow group of customers because of the viral nature of the network the donor base can expand exponentially.
Solavei launched in September 2012 and has 100,000 customers receiving no contract 4G nationwide coverage with Solavei. Solavei’s initial product offering is 4G unlimited talk, text, and data with no contract for $49 a month. It operates as a MVNO through a strategic partnership with T-Mobile USA. Author Speaker Michael D. Butler Launches New Website Targeting Pro & College Athletes* Offering Financial & Retirement Education for NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL & NCAA Players

As many as 78% of former NFL players have gone bankrupt or are under financial stress because of joblessness or divorce – we’re giving them a ‘Plan B’ and that is important!*

Michael d butler speaking students Michael D. Butler Launches New Website Targeting Pro & College Athletes

Author, Speaker Michael D. Butler addresses financial literacy education with young audiences offering hope.

“Recession or no recession, many NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball players have a penchant for losing most or all of their money. It doesn’t matter how much they make. And the ways they blow it are strikingly similar,” Torre continues.

Michael D. Butler is using his speaking platform to educate and inspire young athletes to ‘look at the big picture and have a ‘Plan B’ from high school kids to professional athletes it really is a mindset change.

Butler reasons, “America’s hero worship of athletic stars has many believing that education is the answer to the current path of self destruction that has been the demise of too many former professional athletes in recent years. With athletes only a few years in prime condition many do not adequately save and invest for the future, couple with the fact that many get caught up in the ‘high-roller’ lifestyle – destruction is inevitable. We’re trying to make a difference by educating, speaking and showcasing examples of athletes and former athletes who are doing things well.”

This thought is echoed in a recent ESPN Documentary “BROKE” Directed by Billy Corben “More money, more problems. Broke digs into the psychology of men whose competitive nature carried them to victory on the field yet seemed to ruin them off the field.”

One professional boxer is hoping to make a difference and self fund his comeback tour in a very non traditional way – “King James” Johnson is going for World Champion and will not let anything get in his way – not even the economy. “Boxing Tour takes on unlikely sponsor as Social Commerce Industry is born on boxer’s “come back tour.”

Johnson retired four and a half years ago after successfully defending his Light Heavyweight title – he retired due to an injury. After near 5 years off and his body “feeling awesome” he decided to complete for his dream. His dream of “being one of boxing’s best.” He’s determined to meet the demands of his sport and that includes staying on the road and supporting his family while he fights. Johnson launched KingofTheRing.biz running on a proprietary Lead Generation software.

“I’m 3-0 in my return to the ring. I will fight for the NABU Cruiserweight Championship title January 19th in Memphis. I was an Olympic alternate for the 1996 USA team in Atlanta. I did not get a chance to compete though.” Other fights this year are scheduled by James and his Manager, Jimmy Gibson, “We’ll be fighting in Oklahoma, Minnesota and even Mexico later this year.”

“King James’ Johnson and Manager Jimmy Gibson have taken an ‘out-of-the-box’ approach to funding their ‘come back tour’ choosing to partner with a new Social Commerce Company and offer fans athletes, even competitors the same opportunity. Gibson was heard saying, “Rocky supported himself by working in the meat packing plant between prize fights, we think Social Commerce is a better bet and we can help so many more people this way.”
