We live in a unique time. With 2 Billion texts being sent each day and 3 Billion emails …… (I need to double check this number but I’m sure I’m close if I undershot it-next week it will be spot on!)

So it happened tonight! I got ‘the phone call’

You know what I am talking about you’ve gotten the ‘phone call’ too. The phone call from a new and excited Network Marketer. She called me after 9pm  and had barely come up for air by 9:35 she was so excited and in ‘sales mode’ I learned a lot about ‘my prospect in those 58 minutes before we hung up the phone and I only asked 3 questions!

 

The Late Legendary Sales Trainer & MLM Mentor Bob Schmidt said: “If you ask enough of the right QUESTIONS, you’ll eventually get the answers you want.”

 

In the World of Sales you must ALWAYS BE LOOKING FOR A NEW CUSTOMER! And you must ALWAYS BE LISTENING! You see, people WANT to buy…they just don’t want to be sold to. And your prospect is ALWAYS telling you how they want to be sold to.

By listening to my prospect (and notice I called her ‘my prospect’ even though she called me to pitch ME!) Reverse Prospecting is one of the MOST effective forms of recruiting in Network Marketing.

In the 58 minutes I listened to Jan (not her real name I know some of you are REALLY good with Google!) She told me: Her WHY she wanted in this ‘Pyramid Scheme thingy’ and WHY she thought THIS was the perfect opportunity for her and for me.

In fact she had just stumbled upon our industry of Network Marketing and the same industry I am now supporting my wife in her new venture in Energy Deregulation.

So will she come into my company as a customer and rep? We’ll see, and let you know but the point is: Had I shut her down in the first 7 minutes of her non-stop exhale I would have surely lost a FUTURE sale and worse, risked a very important friendship.
